We experience buildings in terms of their form, their structure, their aesthetics and how we and others use them . This constitues the reality of our physical experience, but buildings not only have an existence in reality, they also have a metaphorical existence. They express meaning and give certain messages, just as the way we dress of furnish our homes gives people certain messages about us.
Classical into modern
during the first half of the 2oth century the architectural habits
of the world completely changed.whithin that period, and at the heart
of the process of change,we can now trace,as a matter of history,
the workings of what we conventionally call the modern movement in
architecture.the movement had its begining in the decade before
1914 . It is reached its highest pitch of innovating vigour in the late
20th and after world war II , exploded like a delayed action
bomb, filling the huge vacum the war years had created.
Its effects speard and speard until by now there is no corner
of the industrialized world in which the thin, high, glossy blocks, the
perspectives of concerete posts and punched window patterns
are not typical and familiar.
